As you might know, ABCPennyAuctions.com, a promising online penny auction that caught attention because winning items on the site was apparently easy, closed down earlier this year. It’s a common occurrence among fledgling penny auctions, especially since the first few months of operations always demand the most money. The truth of the matter is that an honest penny auction site will almost always find itself losing money at first, hence why so many other sites resort to scams and fraudulent practices.
ABC Penny Auctions though looks to be back on track and under new ownership. According to new owner Frank Grimes, he’s excited to get his feet wet as the owner of a penny auction he intends to run legitimately. While ABC is scheduled to officially re-open to the public on the 4th of October, the site is already back online and auctioning off some minor items, including the usual gift cards and small- to mid-value electronics.
After winning a gift card at a bargain price on Quibids.com, another penny auction site, Frank says he immediately got hooked to the new shopping method. After looking up the hundreds of penny auctions on the web, Frank was surprised at how many of them were shady operations that scammed unsuspecting bidders. What’s more disturbing to him is that while some of these fly-by-night sites have closed down, a handful are still up and running with strong followings.
With these problems in mind, Frank set out to put up a penny auction site that provide two things: superb customer service and great bargains. With the opening of ABCPennyAuctions.com, it seems he’s one step closer to reaching that goal. We’ll just have to see if he keeps his word.
