ABCPennyAuctions.com is a relatively new site that seems to be an ideal “training ground” for penny auction newbies. The site features an assortment of items, most of which are things we actually need, instead of want. ABC Penny Auctions has auctioned off only a handful of fancy prizes such as HDTVs and laptops, but if you’re looking to do some bargain shopping at Walmart or Amazon, then you can’t go wrong with bidding on this site. ABC mainly has gift cards from popular retail outlets and restaurants, and since competition is fairly light on the site, you’re sure to win a prize after using a few bids here and there.

Registration is free on ABC Penny Auctions, and after signing up, you can explore the site and try bidding with your 5 free bids. Bids are priced at 60 to 80 cents each, and come in packs of 10 to 200 bids. Each bid placed on an auction usually increases its price by $0.01, however it seems that this could vary from auction to auction. The auction timer also increases by 10- to 15-second increments after each bid. As usual, the last bidder before the timer clocks to down to zero wins the item at a great deal.

If you’re away from a computer, you can also make use of ABCPennyAuctions.com’s ‘Bidbutler’, also known as an auto-bidder on other penny auctions. You can set the Bidbulter to bid on an auction once it gets to your desired price range, helping you get a better chance of winning, even when you’re not online.

There’s not much we can say about ABC Penny Auctions, mainly because it’s only been around for a few weeks. One thing we do like about the site is that members can pay for their bids and wins via PayPal and Authorize.net – a far more secure method than just disclosing your credit card details.
