BidSauce Comes out with Penny Auction App

In August of this year, BidSauce.com released their bidding app for the Android mobile operating system. All members have to do to download the app to their phones is to head to the Android marketplace and search “Bidsauce.” After installation on any Android powered device, the BidSauce app allows the site’s members and observers to view all live auctions. Of course, the app also allows bidders to bid on an auction, and then flip through other auctions with a simple finger swipe.

It’s worth noting that penny auctions have long been accessible via mobile devices, even before custom apps were made for auction sites. The only problem is that not all phones are compatible with penny auctions, so bidding could either be painstaking, or impossible. BidSauce’s Android app however is specially optimized for the site, which allows seamless navigation, and more importantly, interaction with live auctions.

While bidding on BidSauce through your mobile phone is certainly fun and convenient, don’t get carried away too much though. Plenty of problems can arise from mobile phone bidding, such as running out of battery power, connection issues to the internet and more, so try it at your own risk.

BidSauce.com is all about variety, and indeed, the site has a wide assortment of prizes sure to impress just about anyone. From HDTVs, iPods, gift cards, to vacation packages, BidSauce’s prizes are nothing short of tantalizing. At one point, the site even auctioned off 2 tickets to the Super Bowl XLIV.

There are 2 types of auctions on BidSauce: the regular Timed Auctions and the nerve-wracking Turbo Auctions. Timed Auctions work like regular auctions on other penny auction sites, in that each bid raises the item price by 1-cent increments. Unlike other sites however, the timer is reset each time a bid is placed. This essentially means that auctions are bound to run for hours, especially if power-bidders are present. Once the timer reaches 30 seconds, placed bids will only raise the timer by a random number of seconds.

Turbo Auctions on the other hand, work a little differently . Turbo Auctions take place randomly within the month, and are easily recognizable with their auction “design”. Once a Turbo Auction starts, members have only 3 seconds (that’s right, three) to bid as many time as they can. There’s no way to reset the timer, so you’ll have to click as many times as you can to win. The person who places the most bids within 3 seconds wins the auction. It’s fast, insane, and immensely fun.

Timed Auctions have a win-limit of 4 wins per 30 days, while Turbo Auctions have none.

BidSauce.com has been accused of using bots to “increase” traffic and go against bidders. While winning on the site is not impossible, getting your prizes is a totally different matter. Winning bidders have apparently not received their prizes after a month, and they had to call the site’s support team to check on the status of their won items.
