Bidhere.com is an Australian-based penny auction site that boasts of impressive features and perks more commonly found in big-time penny auctions. For example, BidHere has made use of popular social media websites such as Facebook and YouTube to help establish their presence on the web, as well as to foster a community of regular and in-the-know bidders.
Items on Bidhere range from big-ticket electronics such as MacBooks from Apple, DSLR cameras, HDTVs, high-end mobile phones, to luxury goods such as perfumes, designer bags, and watches. Clearly, variety isn’t a problem on the site, and even the most fickle of bidders is sure to find something to their liking.
While BidHere certainly comes with all the bells and whistles of a cool penny auction, it falters in a very crucial area: customer service and transparency. We’ve yet to find one positive comment on other auction review sites, and although BidHere has its own page with about a hundred or so positive reviews, we’re taking these with a grain of salt since it comes from the site itself.
One complaint that disturbed us the most involved a bidder who tried getting a hold of the site’s management to complain. After finally getting a reply, he was simply told at the end of the message to close his account and find another auction. Not very good customer service if you ask us.
