Based in Malta with servers running in Finland, BidRivals.com is a popular penny auction that’s steadily forging ahead in the world of penny auctions. With a growing number of regular bidders, BidRivals features an impressive array of prizes, including the latest electronics (even the recently released 11.6 MacBook Air) and other luxury goods.

In addition, bidding on BidRivals is also open to more than 25 countries, making it one of the biggest penny auctions in the world.

However, because BidRivals caters to such a huge audience, the site sometimes suffers from occasional lags and speed problems—don’t be surprised if you experience lag issues when clicking the ‘bid’ button. Lately the site seems to have been undergoing numerous maintenance repairs, going offline to fix these issues. We can only assume that this has to do with numerous technical problems that plague BidRivals.

As its name suggests, the rivalry on this penny auction site is intense. One auction for an iPod Touch got as high as up to $67. With each bid costing $0.60, BidRivals made over $4,000 on one auction alone. If you’re a novice or someone who likes to take it easy with bids, this site may not be for you.

You guys are so full of it. First of all about me, I have been buying from Real auctions for 15 years and have been running one now for 3 1/2 years. With that said, I can spot a scam. I signed up and bid for some products. I actually won a 10 credit buy for a 46 cents. Then I started to look at the big ticket items, and the scam began…
I got up early and found am Ipad that I wanted. I bid on it for an hour or so when I noticed that the bidagent was bidding against me every time. No big deal right? I made note of the two bidagents names and left for work. when I got home they were still going at it 6 hours later. Now I was concerned so I continued to watch it. 10 hours later they were still bidding so I counted the bids per hour and this is what I found.
    The items cost was 499.00
they averaged 20 bids per 5 minutes at a cost of .65 cents per bid.
that means in 10 hours they paid 1560.00 u.s. dollars on bids alone to win a 499.00 item. Plus the item cost of over 200 dollars. So not only one bidder paid 1760.00 for a 499.00 item the other bidder paid 1560 and got nothing? Oh wait he could apply that money towards the purchase right? (what a joke) In the auction business we call that rolling. the owner bids on their own product to get the bid where they want it. I call it FRAUD!!! Wise up people. By the way, I documented all of this and can prove it on two other items as well. even have the item numbers and a lovely chat discussion with Bidrivals/bidrippoffs….

I completely agree with you. In my case I had a Bid Agent bid on my item after I had won the item and was declared the winner. So auction closed means nothing, except closed to the real people, allowing the Bots to dive in and take the cake. Even with a delay of over 3 minutes, this is when the Bot swooped. So you can never be guaranteed to win the item. Even after bidding through 4+ hours and winning. I was told they will only investigate if I provide them with a screen shot of my win. Really, am I missing something, I’m sure it’s not standard practice to screen shot everything. Had I known of their business practices I might certainly would have, but I trusted them that WINNER means I WON! I have various forms of proof but they won’t even look at it,so much for customer service. I smell a RAT! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!

I had asked them for a copy of the original Terms and conditions that I had signed up under. And you guessed it NO! they will not provide this. They say that the terms have been redone now and they don’t have a copy of the previous Terms anywhere. BULL! No one believes that. What sort of company are Bidrivals.com.au running, that they don’t keep records. And they changed the Terms without any forewarning. How convenient! DO NOT TRUST THEM. Keep yourself safe, stay away!!!!!!!!!!
