BOOMBidz.com is a very new penny auction site that went live on the 19th of April. According to the site’s owner, BOOMbidz was created to provide online shoppers a place to shop where transparency and interaction are placed at the forefront.
The site’s first auctions are set to end on the 5th of May, and like most new auctions, BOOMBidz.com only has small items such as gift cards, newly released movies, and video games. The site’s managements plans to introduce larger items in the future, depending on how the site fares in its first few weeks of operation.
Information on timer and price increments are somewhat vague, but it seems that these factors will vary from auction to auction. Bids are sold at $0.75 each, with bid packs coming in bundles of 25 to 500 bids. One thing that disappoints us though is the site’s shipping. Shipping will apparently vary by item, but if it’s any consolation, BOOMBidz promises to ship prizes within 7 to 14 days. We’ll see how that claim pans out.
Right off the bat, the site’s management wants to make it clear that bots are not being used at BOOMBidz.com. Traffic on the site is pretty low as of the moment, and we’ve yet to observe activity that resembles that of shills or bots.
Many of BOOMBidz’s features are currently in the testing phase, so don’t be surprised if you encounter site errors and the like. Now since the site is new, this makes it an ideal “testing ground” for people who are new to penny auctions. Feel free to purchase a few bids and try out their auctions. BOOMBidz.com’s prizes are small, so it’s very likely that competition is light.
